Life comes at us sometimes too fast and sometimes too slow.
If anything can be said for the pace of life, is that it changes constantly from slow to fast to slow again. Usually, it moves too fast. Our pace and busy-ness make time pass too quickly to be appreciated. This is what makes the markers in life so important. School graduations each May signify the passing from one stage to another, and in the case of Visible Music College, the stage is often the very thing that students are excited to get to after the graduation ceremony.
But sometimes the next stage comes too slowly.
We can often be caught trying to speed up opportunity and moving on from things that are hard, like attaining a college degree. We want it to move fast and be done and give us the next stage right away. But accomplishing a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Music at Visible Music College is brought about by a concerted (music pun) effort and resilience that grows as we succeed. I think of it as a “graduated” life, one in which each thing that comes at us requires a different amount of skill, patience, perseverance, and joining with others.
Listening to God and choosing the necessary, graduated approach specific to the next stage is the key to staying grounded in life and time.
