Vocal Masterclass with Kim Wood Sandusky
October 20 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Coaches in this industry often shape an artist’s sound to fit a trend. Kim’s technique focuses instead on developing the character and tone of an artist’s voice while accentuating—never covering up—their natural talent. She meets her clients where they are with approachable, practical exercises designed for fast results. Artists start to hear and feel big vocal changes within the first session, whether it’s in-person or virtual.
“I believe that every voice is unique, and that’s what makes you marketable as an artist,” she said. “I help my artists find and develop their own sound—one they can build a career on.”
Though Kim keeps an A-list client roster (and at times must keep those names under wraps), she’s known in industry circles as the vocal mentor behind some of the world’s most distinctive voices. Clients include Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Destiny’s Child, Tom Keifer of Cinderella, Lauren Alaina, Francesca Battistelli, Toby Mac, Jeremy Camp, Kristyn Getty, Jaci Velasquez, Thompson Square, Mandisa, Dave Barnes, Pam Tillis, and many more we can’t disclose. Industry giants Sony, Columbia, Warner Bros, Hollywood Records, Disney, Universal, EMI, MCA, RCA, Motown and Capital (just to name a few) rely on Kim to push their Artist’s vocal performance capabilities to their ultimate potential.

Kim’s coaching approach is equal parts conservation, correction, and character. She helps artists from all genres increase range, build breathing stamina, cultivate their signature sound, protect their health, and address vocal medical problems.
A vocalist’s life is demanding, and even seasoned pros can strain their voices from overuse or hidden issues. That means more than hoarseness; poor technique can lead to canceled tours, lost contracts, and stalled careers. Kim has a gift for catching issues before they become injuries, helping clients protect their careers, and keep doing what they love for years to come.
After opening vocal studios in New York and Los Angeles, Kim chose to put down roots in Nashville, Tennessee. Headquartered in the heart of Nashville’s famous Music Row district, she shares an address with major labels and publishing companies. “Even though it’s a busy entertainment hub, I just love the laid-back feel you get in Nashville, “ she said, “My artists always enjoy spending time in this relaxed, creative community. It’s just a wonderful place to focus on your talent.” Kim travels the world coaching artists on stage and in studio settings, but is always happy to come home to Music City.
