Drumathon 2023
November 3 @ 9:30 am - November 4 @ 9:30 am

During Drumathon 2023, members of Visible Music College’s Drum division will play ongoing drums for 24 hours. This event benefits the Visible Music College Drum Division and helps raise funds for gear, student scholarships and drum clinics, featuring world class clinicians.
Drumathon is open to the public and features opportunities for both guest artists and visitors to participate alongside the students. While participating, students drum along to a queue of songs ranging from all genres and time periods. Attendees can expect a range of styles. There will be options for supporters to “Be The DJ” and request songs for everyone to perform as well as a “Pay to Play” option where on-site guests can join in alongside the department.
- In the giving portal, writing your sponsored drummer’s name in the comments section.
- Be The DJ – $5 requests for songs to be played by participating drummers, can be written in the “comments” through the donation link and can be requested leading up to the event or during the day of the event.
- Pay to Play (for in-person guests) – Guests give an amount of their choosing to join the fun and drum along. Includes 3-4 songs to play of your request.
Historically, the event has raised in excess of $60,000 for music education due to student fundraising and the supporting efforts from the local Memphis business community. This year is our 17th iteration and Drumathon 2023’s goal is to raise $10,000, both for providing scholarship opportunities for prospective students and to feature guest clinicians on our campus next Spring. In October 2021, the Drum Division raised $5,300 and were able to invite Matt Greiner of August Burns Red to come and give two masterclasses in March 2021. Other previous guests include, Zoro (Lenny Kravitz), Chris Patt (Stevie Wonder, ZZ Ward), Ryan Peel (Cody Simpson), Jen Ledger (Skillet) and Terrance Clark (Gungor) .
The event will also be live streamed via youtube in order for online viewers to watch and engage by requesting specific songs and supporting their sponsored drummer.
