Accreditation

Visible Music College is a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools (TRACS) [PO Box 328, Forest, VA 24551; Telephone: 434.525.9539; e-mail: info@tracs.org] having been awarded Reaffirmation I of its accredited status as a Category II institution by the TRACS Accreditation Commission on April 29, 2014; this status is effective for a period of ten years.

TRACS is recognized by the United States Department of Education (DoED), the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).

Authorization

Visible Music College is authorized for operation as a postsecondary educational institution by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (http://tn.gov/thec). Visible Music College is also authorized for operation as a postsecondary educational institution by the Illinois Board of Higher Education (http://www.ibhe.org) and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (http://www.thecb.state.tx.us).

AACRAO

Visible Music College is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. AACRAO is a nonprofit, voluntary, professional association of more than 10,000 higher education admissions and registration professionals who represent more than 2,600 institutions and agencies in the United States and in 28 countries around the world. The mission of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers is to serve and advance higher education by providing leadership in academic and enrollment services.

Transferability of Credits

Credits earned at Visible Music College may not transfer to another educational institution. Credits earned at another educational institution may not be accepted by Visible Music College. You should obtain confirmation that Visible Music College will accept any credits you have earned at another educational institution before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement. You should also contact any educational institutions that you many want to transfer credits earned at Visible Music College to determine if such institutions will accept credits earned at Visible Music College prior to executing an enrollment contract or agreement. The ability to transfer credits from Visible Music College to another educational institution may be very limited. Your credits may not transfer and you may have to repeat courses previously taken at Visible Music College, if you enroll in another educational institution. You should never assume that credits will transfer to or from any educational institution. It is highly recommended and you are advised to make certain that you know the transfer credit policy of Visible Music College and of any other educational institutions you may in the future want to transfer the credits earned at Visible Music College before you execute an enrollment contract or agreement.

Articulation Agreements

Visible Music College looks to develop educational partnerships, or what are known as articulation agreements within higher education, with both accredited and non-accredited institutions. We see this as an opportunity for both our own college and the partner institutions. We current have these articulation agreements:

Accredited
  1. Johnson University – Agreement for the transfer of credits.
  2. Belhaven University – Agreement for the transfer of credits and matriculation into Belhaven’s graduate programs.
  3. Vincennes University – Agreement for the transfer of credits between Vincennes’ Music Department and Visible Music College’s Modern Music Department.
  4. Ohio Christian University – Agreement for the transfer of credits and matriculation into Ohio Christian’s graduate programs.
Non-Accredited
  1. Ocean’s Edge School of Worship – Can receive up to 30 credit hours toward one of our degrees.
  2. Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry – Can receive up to 18 credit hours toward one of our degrees.
  3. Nicolet Bible College – Can receive up to 24 credit hours toward one of our degrees.

Reporting Rates

Reported numbers are for our students based in the State of Tennessee alone. These numbers do not include rates for our Chicago and Dallas sites at this time. For the July 2015 to June 2016 period, the withdrawal rate was 28.2%, the completion rate was 32.6%, the in-field placement rate was 69.2%, and the overall placement rate was 100%. Detailed statistical data for this program may be viewed by going to http://www.tn.gov/thec/article/school-and-agent-authorization and clicking on the “Authorized Institutions Data” button. In accordance with the data reports to our accreditation body, the 2016 Retention Rate was 88% and the Graduation Rate for our Bachelor degree programs was 40%. This reporting figure is based upon first-time, full-time students entering in the Fall 2011.
